Replacement for Anderson snap-in retainer strips

Quick Learner from Virginia
The retainer strips on our Anderson storm doors seem to break every time we switch out the main panel (twice a year), so I'm looking for something a little sturdier. I came across a recommendation for these insert clips to use instead, but I'm not clear on how they are installed/where the screws go. Is there a video or instruction manual?

Thanks for posting. Yes, the trouble is many old storm door retainer strips are no longer made. You should be able to use our 70-180 clips and 33-090 screws instead. The 70-180 would need to be secured on the face of the door with the 33-020. The end leg of the clip has a 1/2" reach and should press up against the screen or glass panel in the door holding it in place. I would suggest installing four or five on each side and maybe two at the top.

Alternatively, you can cut the current strip you have down into clips of your own, it should work just the same. There's no need for it to be one long continuous strip.
