Replacement for Malta screen latch

A quick learner from South Carolina says:
Part 70-048 worked well for me on my Malta double-hung windows. This is not the same as the original tan ones. You need to bend them a little to get them to work. It took about three minutes to replace each one. Remove about 2? of spline from the corner, pop that part of the screen and the broken latch out, slip in the new latch, then the screen, and respline. You do not need to rescreen.

Thanks for writing in, and thanks for reporting about how you got the 70-048 to work for you. This is a common problem for customers, as Malta made a few versions of this clip, and many of the older ones do not have the same spacing as the 70-048. We tend to recommend that customers consider using a different type of latch, like our 70-204. Either way, let us know if you need anything else, and thanks for considering our business!
