Replacement for Mepla hinge

Quick Learner from Newmarket, NH

Hello, Swisco:

I wonder if you could help me find a replacement for a cabinet hinge.

The bracket (a right angle piece) on the inside cabinet-wall on a MEPLA hinge that's about 20 years old broke. The number on the bracket is 348.258.00.35. On the bottom of the cup of the hinge itself is stamped 9M. (There is no serial number on the cup.). The photos (attached) below show the front and back of the unbroken hinge with the intact cabinet-side bracket attached.

I bought a replacement hinge locally, but there were two problems: 1) the cup of the hinge is about 1/8" too deep for the hole in the door, and 2) the holes for the screws on the flanges of the cup are about 1/8" too close together for the (plastic-lined) screw holes in the door. On the unbroken hinge the holes in the flanges are about 47.5 mm apart on center (about 1 7/8"); the cup is about 10 mm (about 7/16") deep at its maximum depth, from the underside of the flange to the bottom of the cup.

Thank you for your attention.

Phil

Hello there. I am afraid we don't have an exact match for this hinge. Check out our 32-345. Review the diagrams below and see if you think this could work for you.

I'm afraid I don't know exactly what you have. Those two codes are associated with multiple different style hinges. Would it be possible to see a photo of the original part? We can then see if we have a good match in our inventory. Thank you!

Don't worry about the screw hole placement. If the plastic insert has a flange/rim around the top, use a sharp utility knife to trim it flush with the door. DO NOT REMOVE THEM. They will damage the door if pulled out. Match the overlay of the current hinge and if the screw holes don't match, screw right into the plastic after drilling a new starter hole.
