Replacement for crank assembly

Question

I have a casement window (hinges on right), crank in the middle at window's bottom. The assembly's "elbow" protrudes to the right and is screwed into the far right bottom of the window. The assembly shows "Truth" on the arm. Turning the crank is nearly impossible. The friction is in the rusted gears, as the handle is new.

1) Is there a Swisco replacement that will fit through the oval opening on the bottom? Do I need a left or right assembly?

2) There are multiple holes where the Truth arm is attached to the window's aluminum bottom. This is from attaching and reattaching the arm. Would you suggest placing a thin piece of metal over this area and then screwing the new assembly into this?

I hope you have my needed part. The current assembly is old and doesn't work right.

It definitely sounds like the gears are stripped out. Base don your picture, I think our 39-220 would be a good match. Since your handle is new, you can likely re-use it.

I see what you mean about the multiple holes by the bracket. A thin piece of metal, like you suggest, may be the best option here. It's always tricky dealing with multiple holes like this, so it won't be perfect.
