Replacement for old brass window sash latch

Handy Person from Keezletown, VA
Trying to find a suitable replacement for some older brass window sash latches that are used on 1950's era aluminum windows commonly used in school classrooms.

I'm sorry to say that we don't sell a latch like this, and I don't believe anything in our inventory would be compatible. This part is just too old, I'm afraid.

Before we say anything for sure, can you kindly remove this latch from the window and show me how it interfaces with the window? Seeing the underside may at least point me in the right direction, but given the age of the window I don't want to get your hopes up. All I can say is that I'll do my best to find something equivalent.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for taking the time to look at this.

Here's some pics with a tape for scale. The latch just passes through the frame and catches on a piece of metal to secure the window. I think it's assisted with a spring which on some of these it's missing or not working. We have 21 of these windows and latches - some working and some not. If you can find a suitable replacement that would be super.

Thanks again for your time.

Matt

Thank you. Unfortunately, I'm afraid my original assessment was accurate. This is not something that we will be able to supply at this time. It's just too old.

I'm very sorry for the inconvenience.
