Replacement hardware for Weathervane window.

Question

Hi, I have a Weathervane window that is in good shape except the crank hardware is broken. I'm having a hard time finding the correct replacement part. The original is a Truth Pat 4505601. The markings include the number 34 on the back of the base, the number 40352 on the arm/cog attached to the base, and the number 30905 on the arm farthest from the base.

I purchased a Truth TH24177 replacement that works, but it doesn't fit into my casement correctly. The original is flat and thinner than the replacement base that fits into the casement. The new one is rounded and thicker, making it impossible to fit correctly into the casement. Is there another option that will work better?

Hey there,

Thanks for writing in! Your existing casement operator is an older version of our 39-172. The opposite handed version is part 39-171. Take a look at the dimensions and compare them to your existing hardware to confirm that this is the right replacement.

There are two different types of compatible crank handles; our non-folding crank handle 39-114L and our folding handle, part 39-205. The compatible Snap-Stud Brackets are part 39-546 and the opposite handed version, part 39-545.
