The windows are Vetter installed 22 years ago. Each pane has one pile section but 2 grooves are available. The windows right now are very drafty.
How is the pile purchased, how do I figure the amount needed?

Base width is 3/8" and the Pile Height is 1/4".
On my windows, there is only one track being used with the weather stripping. it's currently be used on the sides. Should it be added elsewhere on the window?

Thanks for confirming. We don't sell pile in these exact specifications, unfortunately. Our recommendation would be to browse our selection here to see if you think you can adapt any to your window. Let us know if you'd like to try any samples and we can send you a purchase link. The maximum for samples is 5 and you would have to just pay for shipping.
Unfortunately, I'm afraid we aren't able to confirm if your window had previous weatherstripping without a reference.
