82-218 Doesn't Fit?

A handy person says:
I ordered item 82-218 which I received. However, the lock has square edges and the door whole is oval (see pics) and will not fit. If the lock was rounded, it appears the screw holes would align. This, I'm thinking it's the correct size. Just wrong shape. Any ideas on the correct lock needed? Also, how do I return this part?

If the hole spacing is the same, judging from the photos alone I do think the 82-218 should work. It's meant to be a very tight fit into the mortise, and needs to be inserted at an angle. See if the video below helps.
