Replacement lock sliding glass patio door

Question

The locking mechanism no longer works on my patio door. Do I need to change the handles along with the lock?

Hello Remove the handle set and inspect it. if it and the tailpieces for the thumb lever and key lock (if present) are undamaged, you just need a new mortise lock. See the 82-218.
