Sorry to hear the 82-240 didn't work out for you. This thumb lever is meant to work with the 82-080 (or its keyed variant, the 82-081). Be sure this matches the handle set your old lever came from. Sometimes the 82-240 doesn't work with older versions of this handle set. In that case, I'm afraid your best option might be to buy a new handle set. Again, make sure the 82-080 matches what you have. If not, please show us pictures of your existing set.
You can view our Return Policy here. Yes, this looks like an older version of our 82-080 Handle Set. The mortise lock is our 82-238, albeit with a different face plate. If you need to replace the mortise lock also, you'd need to see if you could reuse the old face plate. Let me know if you have any other questions.
