Take a look at the 82-002 locking handle set. It measures 6-5/8" between the screw-holes, and the face plate is 7-1/4" long and 1" wide, just like you said yours is. Compare our handle to your handle, and take a look at the related video, "How to replace a sliding glass door handle," to see if our part will work for you. You just want to be sure the measurements match.

How do you install handles on both sides of the lock if the screw goes into the threaded outside part of the lock?

I'm afraid we do not sell a pull handle that can work on the outside of the door. The manufacturer does not design a handle in this style with an outside handle. It looks like the one you have now was a bit of a custom project, probably a kitbash modification made during installation.
