Replacement pivot shoe

Question

I order the replacement pivot shoe 15-192 which is the exact replacement. However I had to modify this part to fit in the channel. All the raised ribs on the front and back I had to grind down smooth for this to fit the channel. Is there a different part number with smooth front and back? Also had to use the old cams which are wider than this replacement.

It sounds like your window used the original Certainteed brand pivot shoe, which sat a lot more flush in the track. Unfortunately, they no longer make that old style shoe. It was discontinued years ago and replaced with the 15-192 by the manufacturer themselves. I am sorry for the inconvenience.
