Replacement screen latches

Handy Person from Yorkville, IL
I am redoing some window screens and I noticed some windows didn't have this piece installed. I looked on the other windows and the screen sits on the lip of this piece to make sure it fits into the opening. On the windows without this piece there was about 1/2" gap between the top and the screen frame and the opening. I thought about just making the screens taller by rebuilding them but then they wouldn't be able to into the opening correctly. Really the only purpose of this clip is to lift the screen frame up to close the gap.

Hello,

Your part description isn't ringing any bells but I'm going to have one of our window and screen experts take a look and see if something that we supply could be used as a replacement. He will contact you directly as soon as we have more information. Thank you!

I agree, it looks like your clip was made "in house" by the manufacture of the window. You would have to check with them or the supplier of the window to get the same type of clip.

If that's not an option, take a look at the 70-176 slip-on clip. This clip slips onto the outside of the window frame and the screen rests in the "u" part of the clip. Since this is not a replacement for your original hardware, we can't be certain that it will work but it is our best option at this time. Thanks for posting!

Yeah I'm starting to think these are very specific parts for this brand of window which I can't locate the brand name or markings.

I'm uploading another picture of the clips in place.
