Replacement spiral balance and shoe for GA windows.

A professional from Sugar Land, Texas says:

Hello.

I have a customer outside of Houston, TX with a home built in 2000, presumably with original GA windows, who needs quite a few spiral balances replaced. The spiral balance rod measures 30", with a 3/8" diameter. Single hole and barb at the bottom for the shoe and a single screw hole at the top. There isn't a color code available so not sure what tension the windows require. Please advise...

Thanks,

Darren

Paul from SWISCO responded:

Hi there, Darren. We have known most GA windows to use our S400-30 spiral balances with a red tip that holds a sash weight of 10-22 pounds. The sash bracket you currently have attached on the side of your non removable sash looks similar to the 17-025. If you should need to replace it, you can consider going with the 17-094 clip-on bracket. Look it over and get back to us with some of your thoughts and/or questions.
