Replacement storm door latch

Handy Person from Alaska
The one I have looks like the 40-194 but there are a couple of subtle differences. Attached photo has arrows pointing to them. Is the 40-194 the right part? The door is older, it was pretty new when we bought the house in 2005.

Hello,

Comparing your original mortise latch, it does appear the 40-194 is very close to yours. I know there are some slight differences but that could be because yours is from a different manufacturer.

The 40-194 goes with the 40-193 Pella storm door handle set. Take a look at the complete handle set to see if your original assembly is similar. That might ease your apprehensions. Also, review the related video on installing these types of mortise handle sets. Thanks for posting.

Great, please let us know if you have any other questions.

The lock appears to be very similar. Do you have a dimensional drawing to compare overall dimensions and location of key features?

Is there a right/left version of the lock, or is the latch reversible?

Marking on the lock is EMCO

Thank you

Hello,

See the dimensions from the 40-193 product page below. This assembly is non-handed, meaning that it can be used for a left or right opening door by pushing the latch into the mortise and flipping it before releasing. Thank you.
