Replacement window balance

Im trying to determine the correct replacement part for a window balance installed in a Milgard Window.
The stamp on the current balance is " 26 4 JO Caldwell"

Start with our S385-27 channel balance, this looks like it matches what you have.

Is the item returnable if it doesnt fit? Is there a second option that might be close also?

Yep, they are returnable. See our return policy. Another option that may be close is our S380-27, but based on the size of your bottom shoe in your final picture I don't think this is it. We list detailed information for all of our hardware that you can go over to confirm if our suggestions will wo rk.

How do i know what "option" to purchase alongside S385-27?
The markings are " 26 4 JO Caldwell"

How do i know which "option" to buy? The stamp says "26 4 JO" so does that mean option 2640?

Yes, a stamp of 26 4 usually corresponds to our 2640 option. You can always weigh your sash to confirm, as well.
