Replacement window shoe snapped?, Prism is says

Quick Learner from Beacon NY
PRISM windows? It says prism on the locks. The windows were here when I moved in so I don't know how old. I would say 15 yrs. I think they are suppose to be in one piece not 2. Window came slamming down out of nowhere.

Thank you

Thanks for posting. This shoe looks like our 15-192. Just go over the dimensions and the shape of the cam to confirm. If your window slammed down, it's likely that the coil springs that your shoe connected to further up in the window track have broken. The coil springs help enable the opening and closing of the window. The 15-192 shoe uses our Series 170 coil springs; if you have more than one spring on each side of the sash, then you would also need the Series 171 coil spring, which has a longer tongue to reach around the Series 170 and attach to the pivot shoe. Look for stamp numbers on your old springs to indicate the spring weight you need. Let us know if you have any questions.
