How do you replace a series 500 spiral window balance in a non tilt, non clip window

Hello,

You would generally detach the spiral from the bracket attached to the bottom corner of the window sash and unscrew the balance tube from the jamb to pull it out of the top. Installing the new balances would be the same process reversed. You would slide the balance into the channel through the top, screw the balance to the jamb, and follow the process shown in our guide here to charge the balances using the 75-005 tool before attaching the spiral to the sash bracket.
