Replacing Non-Tilt Channel Balance

A quick learner from Los Angeles says:

Hi, the windows to my new house have channel balance that looks like "33 5 HQ Caldwell" (winged). Can you please tell me which ones I should order from your site? The measurement (according to the right way to measure) is 34".....

Thank you,

We'd be happy to help but we'll need to see a picture of your balance removed from the window to narrow down your replacement options since the number on the balance only tells you the tension the spring needs to keep your window up. Thank you!

A quick learner from Los Angeles says:

Hi Casey,

Please find the fotos you requested.

1. Tilt balance (2 different sizes)

Some other items I need (fotos attached):

2. Metal catch that tilt balance catches on to (cant upload image)

3. Little plastic stop that's missing from upper edge of windows

Would be great if you could tell me what the parts are so I can order from your site?

Thank you for sharing your photos with us. Starting off with your top sash guide, our 18-171 looks almost identical to what you have. Confirm that our measurements match up with yours. As for your balances, they look close to both our Series 380 and Series 385. The difference between these two lie within the bottom balance shoe. For the Series 380, the depth of the shoe measures 1", and for the Series 385, 1/3/32". You will need to measure the depth of your bottom shoe, like in the diagram below, to determine which of the two would work. For the 34" balance, you would go with either S380-34 or S385-34 with a 3350 option. And for the 31", go with either S380-31 or the S385-31 with a 3040 option.
