Replacing Window Balances

A quick learner from Venice Florida says:
1-marked 2940 bsi vk measures 1/2"wide 31"long and a 1" base plate
1-marked 2840 bsi ax measures 1/2"wide 30" long and a 1" base plate
I believe someone replaced the balance with the wrong size (2840)
The window measures 51" x 61" inside the house
A quick learner from Venice Florida says:
The numbers and measurements are in the previous post.although these came out of the same window they are different numbers and lengths, the longer balance is marked 2940 the shorter is 2840. I am not sure which is the proper balance.

With this combination of end attachments, you could have either a S380 or S385 channel balance. Both balances are available in the 30" and 31" lengths that you need. You need to measure the bottom attachments as shown below. The Series 380 has a 1" bottom attachment, and the Series 385 has a 1-3/32" attachment. The stamp numbers you gave us correlates with the spring strength option that you'll choose on the product page.

Thank you and let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
