Replacing Window Channel Balance

Hi,
The Channel Balance on my window does not have any guides, numbers or marks, just nothing at all. I made my measurements and found matching part at your web site. It is 26" Series 385 Channel Balance S385-26. The thing that I am not sure about is the stamp number. The reason I am replacing Channel Balance is that the window is very hard to close (requires much push and my wife cannot close it). It seems to me that the spring in the current Channel Balance appears to be much stronger that sash requires. The sash weight is between 19 to 20 lb. I am afraid to go with higher stamp number (of the reason I described above), so I pre-selected option 2530. Would that be the right choice?

Thanks for contacting us, Oleg. I'm not sure if the S385-26 is what you need. You said you don't have any guides on your balance, but the guides are exclusively how this kind of balance is identified. How did you come to the S385-26?

Assuming the S385-26 is correct, then I would recommend our 2540 option based on your sash weight of 19-20 pounds. As you can see on the chart on the S385-26 store page, the 2540 option can carry 19 through 25 pounds. You may want to get the exact weight of the sash just to be sure. I'd advise against estimating the sash weight in this case.
