Replacing a Mortise Lock in a Vinyl Door

Question

How you get the  old mortise lock out and replae it in an American Craftsman Vinyl door?  I have found the parts in your catalog which match the one I have in the door but unsure how to get the lock out and put the new one in... the part is Product Code: 82-218 round face.  Any help will be appreciated...Thank you

With the door open, put the lock in the locking position with the hook extended. Next remove the inside and out side handle.Then with pliers grasp the locking hook and remove the upper and lower screw holding the mortise lock in the door. The mortise lock should then be easily removed with the pliers. If you don't use the pliers to hold the lock, it will fall into the door.
