The tube diameter measure 3/8 and the tube length is 28in. The window weighs 17lbs

Based on the information you gave us, I'd recommend our S900-28 spiral balance. See what you think.

I did order a 28" series 900 spiral balance with the green tip. My window weighed 17 pounds but wasn't sure which tip to use. The red tip was for 10 to 22lbs and the green was for 14 to 26lbs. I hope the green tip works for my window. Did paid an extra .25 for each, but wanted to make sure it'll work. Also order a spiral balance charging tool for my tilt window. I'm sure I'll be replacing more in the future. Thanks for the info.

Frankly, I think a Green Tip should still be okay. Red Tip just costs a little less.
