Replacing an old Windowmaster channel balance

Quick Learner
I have an old windowmaster, vinyl, single-hung, non-tilt window whose left channel balance broke. The balance is 24" long and 1/2" wide. Markings on the channel are "23DS" perpendicular to this marking there is a smaller "BSI" (or 1?) next, a small "OB," last, a larger number "36." I want to know if you carry such a part or a compatible one, or might suggest where I might be able to track this part down...Thank you very much!

Hey, thanks for posting. What Series you have depends on the nylon attachments on either end. Now, I can't really tell what the top one could be, as yours is missing. I think it might be the 19-005, though. Take a look and let me know if that's correct.

If so, then I've narrowed this down to two possible channel balance Series: either our Series 380 or our Series 385 balances.

Now, as you can see, there is only one difference between these two Series, and that is their bottom shoe. The Series 380 uses the 15-005 while the Series 385 uses the 15-004. I can't quite tell what you have based on your pictures, though. Please carefully compare their dimensions to your own hardware and see which is a better match.

Hi Tom, thank you for responding to my inquiry. I agree with you that the series 385 channel balance appears closest to what I have, especially the 15-004 shoe. The 19-005 top is a little different from mine (which unfortunately is broken as is the string) I was wondering if I could still use this assembly, as this balance top should work with the frame clip, my only question is if it would make a difference on the window side. The main difference is my top has a small additional gap at the top...

Thank you for your time,
Ron

I really can't say if our 19-005 will still work without seeing what yours looks like. Could I see a couple pictures?
