Replacing broken coil balance

Question

I can't find a number (although I'm not sure where to look).  The coils on both sides are broken in the middle, although the window seemed to stay up okay with just one coil.  The window is relatively small and light weight.  Thanks for helping find the right coil to order!

Many thanks for writing in. You have an older-style pivot shoe that has been replaced with the 15-180. If your pivot shoe isn't broken, you can continue using it; otherwise, see our 15-180. The coil springs are our Series 190. To know what spring weights to select, look for numbers that should be stamped above the screw hole on each spring. If these numbers are not available, weigh your window sash. Tell us that exact weight, as well as many coil springs are on each side of your window sash, and we will devise what you need.
