Replacing old Andersen casement latch

Home Owner from Arlington, Virginia
I own a home in Arlington, VA that was built in 1940 that has Anderson Casement windows.
I want to replace one latch.

Can You help me?

Thanks,
Lloyd

Hey, Lloyd. This one is very old. Andersen suggests using one of the newer style locks. Take a look at our 38-056, along with the 38-135 keeper. You may be able to adapt this to your window. The opposite handed lock would be the 38-057. Now, these aren't exact matches to your lock, but I don't think you'll find anything like that. Carefully look over these parts and let me know your thoughts!

Thanks Dave!

I was able to disassemble the original latch, replace the pivot pin, and am able to use it once again. I will keep you suggestion for future reference.

Thanks again! Lloyd

Oh, great! That works, too. Let me know if you ever need anything else.

Hi, I have identical casement locks from 1939-40 in my house in Kansas City. I am interested in repairing or rebuilding a few that have failed if I can't find identical replacements. Do you have a source for working on these old Andersen locks or an identical reproduction?

I'm afraid we have no such source. These haven't been made for the better part of a century so I don't think you're going to find an identical match anywhere unless you're very, very lucky. Your best bet is probably going to be a consumer-to-consumer marketplace like Facebook or eBay, but even that's a Hail Mary. You're essentially looking for a collector's item.

At the end of the day, you're probably going to have to put in the work to adapt modern parts to work on this window in their place.
