How do you put a new top pivot bracket (like the 23-302) onto an existing track of a bifold closet door. The old top pivot bracket was partly plastic and broke. I cannot figure out how to install the new one without taking the track down, which I would prefer not to do. Is there any other way?

I do believe you must remove the track to install the upper pivot bracket.
The top pivot bracket has to slide into the track from the side.
