Replacing windows

Quick Learner from NC
I've watched the video on replacing the channel balance which requires taking the lower part of the window off. So, the lower section can be replaced quite easily. If the upper section has gone bad does that require the entire window be replaced? Do you have a video for that?

Hi there, thanks for writing in. I'm afraid I'm a bit unclear on what you mean. Do you need to replace the balances on the upper part of a double hung window?

No. It's a single hung window. Can the upper section be removed and replaced the same as the lower? Or does the entire window need to be replaced?

I see. If it's a single hung window then the top sash is fixed and replacing it would likely prove difficult. My recommendation would be to contact a local professional.
