Repllacement balancer - upgrade to #4

Question

I would like to replace this balancer with a #4.  The windows were replaced and I need more tension.  3 windows x 2 each - 6 balancers 30 4.  They measure just under 5/8" wide.  Thank you

Hey there,

Thanks for reaching out! The stamp from the balance is directly correlated with the weight of the sash. To determine if the 3040 stamp option is the correct one, I'll need to know the exact exact weight of your sash.

In addition to that, I'll also need to see a photo of the top and bottom attachments from the balance as well as the pulley system in the center of the balance (where the spring and the string meet). This information will help to determine the series you need for the replacement balances.

It would also be a good idea to take a look at the plastic pieces at the top left and right corner of the window sash. There are the top sash guides which help to secure the balance in the window and also help to guide the balance when opening and closing the window.
