Having trouble Installing 82-218 Mortise Lock.

Question

My locking mechanism fell inside the door when I was replacing the handle. I cannot seem to be able to locate the correct replacement lock. We recently purchased a locking mechanism from your website part #82-218 but it didn't fit. I have a few dimensions it's 1/2 inch side to side and 3 11/16 from screw hole to screw hole. I was hoping to be able to get some assistance with locating the correct lock. Thank you!

Hello and thanks for contacting SWISCO. We feel confident that the 82-218 is what you originally had, so you should be able to use the replacement. The 82-218 is meant to be very snug within the door, and it takes inserting it within the slot at a unique angle to install it. We've had many customers who say it didn't fit at first, but they all got it to work eventually. Check out the video below for an example and further instruction.
