Rivco window clips

Hello,
I just received the 55-184 clips I ordered and they are so close to being perfect but they are just a little off. The stem needs to be a hair wider in diameter to stay in the hole and the rectangular section needs to be just a hint smaller to hold the grill in place. These are 30 year old Rivco windows. Do you have any ideas?

Would it be possible to use a little tape to make up the difference? The 55-184 is the only grille clip we have in this style.
