Roller Assembly & Track Compatibility Issue

To Whom It May Concern,
My name is Darren Jourdenais and I am a project manager here at Mousam Valley Millwork in Springvale, Maine. We recently purchased the following 2 items for some sliding glass doors that we were fabricating for a project. The items that we purchased are as follows:

ROLLER ASSEMBLY, 1-3/16" STEEL BB
Product Code: 81-246

6' SLIDING GLASS DOOR TRACK
Product Code: 80-106

We are having a track failure issue which seems to be caused by the steel roller wheel is damaging the aluminum track. I have attached a picture showing the wheel assembly sitting on the track with no additional weight being applied. As you can see, the roller wheel is just "sitting" on the top of the aluminum track and not really fully meshing with the track. My 2 main questions are:

1. Is this correct?

2. Does SWISCO offer an aluminum track that works better with this roller assembly?

Thank you for your help on this, I really appreciate it. Have a great day!

Thanks for contacting us. Sorry to hear you're having trouble. We do have a screen door track, our 80-111, that is compatible with our 81-246 roller. However it will not take doors weighing over 50 lbs. We have a tandem roller assembly, 81-156, that will work with the 80-106 track. Would this be a better option for you?

Hello Paul,
Thank you for getting back to me on this, I really appreciate it. Can you please tell me what the weight rating on the 81-156 tandem roller assembly is rated for? If this roller assembly works with the 80-106 track that we have already purchased, then that would be great!

My last question is: Is the 81-246 single roller assembly designed to work with the 80-106 track that we purchased to go with it or no? I ask because is seems to damage the track as is moves because the steel wheel is cutting into the aluminum track. Thank you jfor all of your help on this, I really appreciate it. Have a great day!

The maximum door weight that the 81-156 can carry is 250 pounds. As for the 81-246, I don't have a lot of personal experience with this roller. It should theoretically work with the 80-106 track, but your picture above makes me think otherwise. I can tell you that this is a somewhat particular roller only meant to replace identical previously existing hardware. If your old roller isn't the same then it likely isn't what you want.
