This is 2 1/4" long by 1 1/4" wide by 1/2" deep. The coil is stamped CMC 408 35?. All the manufacturers markings on the windows are blank from fading. Thank you

Hello! Your pivot shoe looks like our 15-087, which is designed to be used with the Series 180 coil spring. Look these two parts over and let me know what you think.

Since my coil spring is stamped "CMC 408" followed by 35, What would you recommend for pounds?

Also has anybody told you how awesome you are? I am so tired of putting the block of wood in and out of the window, then chasing down the puppy that only wants to chew on it. Thank You!

You're very kind to say so! My mom tells me I'm cool, so I think I do okay.

As for the spring strength, I think you're looking at an 8 pound rating there. The other numbers are a bit conflicting; typically the "40" indicates the travel of the spring in inches, but then I'm not sure what the 35 means. I don't often see those two stamps on the same coil, since they meant he same thing.

I don't think you need to worry about travel, though. All modern coil balances are made to the same size. Just worry about strength. If you only have one spring per side of the window, then I think your sash will weigh 16 pounds. You can always weigh your sash on a scale to confirm.
