Rplacement Balance

Quick Learner from Tennessee

Derek from Window E-Store suggested I contact you.

My 81-year-old neighbor needs a new balance on her window because the foot broke off (see photo). I don?t know the right names, but this is what I found: The three-sided metal channel is 28" long, ½" wide on the three sides and has 28C stamped on it. Inside the channel, the spring is 18 ¼" long with no tension.

Also inside, the pulley assembly is just under 9" with no tension. The clip at the top is a simple "L" shape. And the foot at the bottom - to attach to the window - is stamped PAT # 4610108.

Can you find me the correct replacement? "Inverted Block and Tackle Balance" with this additional information?

Thanks!

Mike

Thanks for reaching out to us, Mike. The part you are showing resembles our 15-195 T-lock balance shoe that is used on the S795-28 channel balance with a screw on "L" clip on the top cord. Look it over to see if this looks correct to you. If it is, you would go with the 28C option.

If I were to go the inexpensive route for this woman and just purchase the 15-195 shoe, will I be able to slip it into the channel and lock it into place without breaking it? The rest of the channel works perfectly!
