Ruated hinge arms on awning windows.

What is the best way to remove rust from hinge arms. Can I use rust remover then silicone lubricant?

I guess you could use a rust remover, but make sure you read the directions so as to not damage anything in the process of removing the rust. That stuff can be strong. I also personally think silicone spray would work well as a lubricate and sealer.
