Thanks for posting. This is a casement window operator, and looks a lot like our 39-171. But compare the dimensions listed below to your old mechanism and let me know if it matches what you need, or if anything differs in any way. For a new handle, see the 39-114L. For a new stud bracket, see the 39-545.

There is a metal arm that appears to connect from the bottom of the window to the crank which is completely gone?
And then the bottom of the window sits on a rusted piece that slides as you crank it in and out?

So, the window operator's link arm connects to a stud bracket attached to the sash. That bracket is the 39-545 I mentioned above. The window operator should, again, the 39-171. Judging from your photos however, it looks like the link arm on your old operator is around 4", whereas on the 39-171 it is 5". That could be an issue. I would recommend first installing the operator as is and seeing if it works fine (some customers report it does); if it does not, however, try re-positioning the stud bracket to make up for the difference in length. Let us know how that works out, if you attempt it.

The other part you are referring to is the casement window hinges. These support the sash during operation. Yours definitely do look rusted. See if the stainless steel 10" 36-004-10 match what you have. Compare to the diagram below.
