Hello, I would recommend having someone hold the sash up while you disengage the Series 500 balance from the metal bracket using the 75-005 tool. While holding the sash up, bring the spiral up to the sash bracket, hook the 75-005 tool and turn the spiral three to four clockwise turns. You should feel the tension building. Then, hook the spiral bow tie to the sash bracket. Repeat the process on the other side, install the top window stops, and try the sash.
