SGD LC25 mortise latch

Question

I am trying to put a mortise latch on a sgd lc25 120/96 patio door I've done this before on other doors On this door there's a rod or something hooked to the mortise so it wont come out I don't see where or if it latches on the top or bottom. I don't see that it dose Thank You  Glenn
