I watched the YouTube video which was very helpful. Except in my window the larger window is on the bottom and the smaller one is on the top so after I move both halves to the top to remove the side grooves only 2/3 of the groove panel are exposed for removal. What do I do to remove that side groove panel? I used sandpaper to rub the balancer and I see the following numbers BP6 12#27 12 84. Also I see another number on the opposite side of the same face and it says 11600-17.

Ultimately I would like to order 4 of these balancers.

Thanks for reaching out to us. It looks like there's a 12#27 stamp on your balance. With that in mind, we recommend the 24-1231. We've also posted a video below regarding the replacement process.

On your YouTube video at time 0:32 he shows 24"+ of the jam liner exposed, but 4 inches of the jam liner still behind the window frame. For me it is nearly 16" of the jam liner still behind the window frame. How do I get the jam liner out?

You have a cottage window where the top sash is shorter than the bottom sash. If I recall, you have to replace balances in the cottage window after removing the screen and screws on the left side jamb liner. Like in the video, work out the bottom of the jamb liner and as you pull it down go towards the outside of the window to give the jamb liner room to slide down. When reinstalling the jamb liner, start the jamb liner outside the window and work the jamb liner up into the window.
