Sash Balance : 29 3 GW CMC 7

A home owner from Cupertino Ca says:

Goal : Buy 20

Weight of the window : 20 lbs

Length of the metal part when I measured shows 30 inches but the stamp shows 29 as the first two digits as shown in the subject line above. Hence confused.

Length, including the two end plastic pieces is 31 inches.

Inside width of the channel is 1/2 inch.

Questions: Which Sash Balance should I buy ? Education on why that option will be helpful.

Thank you and best wishes

Hi, Venu.

Thanks for reaching out. The length for this type of balance is always one more than the first digits of the stamp. Yours is 29 which means the metal channel should indeed be 30" long. This stamp also indicates the weight range your balance is calibrated to support. We can help, but I will need to see clear and up close pictures of the top and bottom plastic fittings on the ends of your balance to determine a match. The video below will go over exactly what I mean.

Thank you for this response,

Let me start by clarifying that I need to buy only 2. 20 was a typo. Apologies for that.

Attached are the pictures I saw were mentioned in the video.

Please help me to buy the right channels.

Thank you and best wishes,

Venu

Thank you very much, Venu! It appears you have either our S380-30 or S385-30 channel balance, depending on the depth of your bottom shoe. The Series 380 has a 1" deep shoe, while the Series 385 has a 1-3/32" deep shoe. You'll just need to measure as shown in the image below to confirm which one you have. You will also need the 2930 strength option, based on your 29 3 stamp.

All orders can be placed on our site whenever you'd like!
