Sash Support Hardware

Quick Learner from Brookland Arkansas
I would like to replace both sides. I'm pretty sure I need the 5/8" dia. 600 series spiral tube balances. Mine measure 27" long. After looking at your website I see there 3 different weight categories. I really think my window would fall into the lightest one (red), but my present rods have a blue tip on them. Some other windows of the same brand are kind of hard to push down, so I really don't think I need the heavier duty ones. Let me know what you think. I bought some tilt out latches from you guys last week, they worked perfectly, thanks.

Thanks for posting! Assuming the diameter of your tube is 5/8", I think our Series 600 is a good match. However, you should weigh your sash to determine the best color option. We have a chart on the S600-27 store page that shows exactly how much weight each tip can support. All you need to do is weigh your sash on a scale and reference our chart for the best match.

Another thought: before you replace your balances entirely, try using a white grease on the spirals and maybe even spray the tracks with silicone and see if that helps window performance.
