I believe I need a 385 Channel balance ( code S385-34 ). I do not know the sash weight range. Only numbers on channel are 33 9 . Window sash is 35" x 50". Can you help with proper sash weight?

I'm afraid "33 9" doesn't correspond to any of our standard options. You will need to weigh your sash on a scale to determine the best option.

High Tom,
I spoke to Tim on the phone and he said the 33 9 means I need a special order 90 lb sash weight. I do not know how to place a special order.

Thanks for getting back to us, Jim. That is not accurate information, I'm afraid. I've never in my life encountered a 90 pound sash that could be supported by a 24" long balance. Are you sure that's what Tim recommended? Balance stamps that end in "9" are old codes that are no longer used, and represent spring strengths that differ from modern balances. One of our standard, non-custom options very well may work for you, but you will need to weigh your sash on a scale and refer to the chart found on the S385-24 store page to determine which is best.
