Sash weight and Balance Stamp

A quick learner from California says:
Hi so thanks to your website, i am now ready to order a pair of 20" (1930 stamped on current part) window balances. The feet are 1" deep so its the 380 series. (Correct me if I'm wrong). I thought the confusion was over till i put my sash on a scale and it weighs 14 lbs 3oz. According to your weight chart with the specs i provide above it should be 12-14 lbs. do i bump up to next size which hold 14-17 lbs or stay with what the original parts say?

Good question. The weight range for the 1930 stamp option is really 12 through 14 pounds, meaning that while being just over 14 pounds is in the upper limits of this weight range, it still should function just fine. Unless you ever found these windows difficult to open or keep open prior to the balances breaking, I'd advise just sticking with the original stamp option.

Also, to be safe, make sure both fittings on this balance have wings, or 'side tabs'. They should be our 19-005 and, if the shoe is 1" deep, the 15-005. If so, then yes, you're absolutely right, the S380-20 is what you need.
