Hi, I have Milgard vinyl windows and one of the channel balance clips broke. The 26" 385 appears to match my balances given the wings at top and bottom. However, the height of the metal is 25 5/8". Is this close enough? Also, what is the recommended method to weigh the sash? I used a bathroom scale, both directly and while holding it (subtracting my weight) and it comes in around 18lbs.
Sound good or do I need to get a Milgard rep in here to source these.

I suspect you have a special type of balance that has to be custom made. It's similar to our Series 385, but this won't replace it. To confirm, can you show me a picture of the nylon ends at the top and bottom of the metal channel? Can you also show me the stamp and the metal hook at the end of the cord? Finally, how many did you need?
As for weighing the sash, it really depends on what you prefer. Sounds like you did the two most common methods, so I see no problem with it.
