Hello,

If your bottom fitting measures exactly 1" deep, I agree that the S380-37 would be the correct replacement. Your stamp code indicates that you may have a 45-pound window sash. I'd recommend weighing the sash to confirm that is the case. If so, you would need 3670 strength options for your replacement balances, which will support a sash between 42-45 lbs. Take a look and I'll be happy to look into your top sash guide replacement options as soon as the photos come through.

Your top sash guide resembles the 18-191 pair. Take a look and see how the dimensions below compare to yours.

Hi Casey, I do not have a scale to weigh a sash but the dimensions are right on the mark. The window in question is quite heavy so i believe a 42-45 pound capacity would make sense at this point. Will the stronger weight capacity make any difference either way? And, how soon can I place this order on both the sash and balances?

It is important to confirm the sash weight since choosing a strength option that is too strong or weak can result in the window not staying up or not closing all the way. If you decide to give the balances a try and run into any issues, our return policy can be found here. The balances and top sash guides can be purchased directly on our product page. You'll be given multiple shipping options and delivery estimates to choose from at checkout.

Hi experts, Again weighing the sash is simply not optional for me at this time. Need option #2 from you at this point?

Unforutnately, there is no other way to confirm the strength option needed for your replacement balances. Your 36 DS 45 stamp can sometimes indicate that the sash weighs 45 pounds, but it's not a guarantee since different manufacturer's stamp codes vary. The good news is that since the S380-37 (3670) balances are stock items, they can be returned if you realize that the sash weight differs when you go to install them. You're welcome to review our full return policy here
