Screen Door Rollers

A home owner from Connecticut says:
In one of our rare overzealous moments, we threw out the roller parts to our screen slider. Now that the cat who liked to scratch screens is no longer with us, we'd like to remount it. Part 84-074N has the right spacing between the two mounting holes and the center post looks like a good fit. It is also the right width for the channel. I'm ready to give these a try if you think there's half a chance they will fit.

The door needs 4 of these, two top and two bottom. Do you recommend nylon wheels, or would steel be better, at least on the bottom?

I can send pictures if they would help confirm the fit.

Thanks!

Hello,

Unfortunately, we can't say what rollers you'd be able to use without seeing the originals. That being said, if the dimensions look like they would be a good fit, it may be worth a try. If you'd like to purchase a few and try to install them, you can view our return policy here in case they don't work out.

As for the age-old debate of nylon versus steel, one is not better than the other. It mostly comes down to personal preference since nylon wheels tend to be a bit quieter but steel may last longer. Thanks for posting!
