Screen roller no markings on this part

Handy Person from Longboat Key FL 34228

These are custom screen doors. This section of the part fell out when we removed the screen from the track. I have not attempted to unscrew the mitered frame to see where this part broke off from up in the frame.

If possible I would like to order new rollers but would like to have non metal rollers.

Can you assist? Appreciate your easy access to post inquiry.

Hello,

The part shown in your photos resembles the 84-152 shown below, but you would need to remove the corner from the screen frame to confirm. Also, please note that this part is only available with a stainless steel wheel. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Hi Casey
Wow there is a lot behind that frame! Do I have to use the same part that is only stainless or can I find another one that might work?
I will try to disassemble my frame this weekend and get a better look inside
Thank much for quick reply

It is important to use an exact replacement for the original part whenever possible to ensure that the door installs and functions properly. If the specifications of the roller and corner match the 84-152, we recommend sticking with that for your repair.

Thank you
Will investigate if this can be a do it yourself project or have to pay someone else
Again appreciate the quick assistance

Hi Team

I started to dismantle my screen frame. Got the screw out on the adjustment roller.

I found a YouTube video by your company from 5-28-14 "How to Replace a Screen Door Corner and Roller (1080p). The video appears to have a much easier task of removing the wheel from the corner mechanism. I can pop the spring out on mine. Should I pry the wheel out of the metal piece?

Before I drill into the frame I just want to reconfirm with the corner assembly that I have I really do need to drill holes!

If there is another video with more options, please share.

Thank you

You would only need to drill the screen door frame if the corner key was "pinned" in place. Take another look at the video. Also, take a look at the 84-029SS wheel and bracket, which also uses a similar roller body to yours. If this is the setup you have in your patio screen door you might just need to remove the screw at the bottom of the door that holds the bracket at the bottom of the door.
