Screws to base of shower door
Thank you!
Thank you for reaching out to us. Your screw is a self-drilling Tek type screw. We do carry these type screws, but only with a 1" length. I don't think you would still need to use a Tek screw if you are just replacing them. You should be able to use either a #8 X 1-1/4" flat head screw or a #6 X 1-1/4" flat head screw. I would suggest taking the screw back to the hardware store and purchase a 1-1/4" screw. As for the diameter, it is either a #6 or #8 but you can have them determine the correct diameter.
I'm very happy we could help, it's what we're here for. Good luck with the repair!
If by "severed screw" you mean that the head is broken off, the first thing I would try is to grab the end of the screw using a set of vise grips. If that isn't possible, take an awl or a small-diameter center punch and place the point of the awl into the screw hole where the screw broke off. Using a hammer, carefully tap the awl to force it into the screw hole. This should help open up the hole and enable you to remove the broken screw.
