Searching for 7904-2

A quick learner says:
I took the lock from my A/W sliding patio door to have it re-keyed. The locksmith informed me that it is missing a component that attaches the gear to the key cylinder, so even if he re-keyed it, the cylinder doesn't make contact with the rest of the unit to turn the latch. The lock works fine from the inside using the thumb lever. Any ideas on what this part is?

I'm sorry, but I'm not sure what this part would be. I don't think it's something you'd be able to replace. You might want to contact a local Andersen dealer directly. Otherwise, you may need to replace the key lock entirely. We carry the left hand 82-318 and right hand 82-319.
