I have a single hung window and the bottom panel is removable ,the length of my balance is 28 inches and ehe top attaches with a simple pointed clip the bottom of the balance has a small square for the side clips of the window pane to set in there is a stamp on the balance that reads 28g      and 7TBSI

Unfortunately the stamp number only indicates the spring strength, but not which balance you need. If you could send us some photos of the end attachments of your balance, as well as the body, we should be able to identify the correct balance.
